	Question: Short Answer/Essay   What aspect of this course do you think was done well and should be preserved for future semesters?   activities. The discussion boards were great. Very helpful. the board were we can all find help and talk to each other I enjoyed the readings from the web sites and how easy it was to get to them and find what you needed. I like the encouragement and responses by the professor, and the earthquake assessment. I enjoyed all the activities submitted on the computer The volcano and earthquake lessons were very well done, I really enjoyed them. The professor's constant contact. I liked the assessment work(re:homework) the earthquace damage assment. The level of interraction and support from the instructor exceeded what I expected from an online course. Additionally, not only did the activities reinforce the reading material, they presented an opportunity for practical application of geological processes in a virtual environment. Dr. King's enthusiasm and constant communication with the students made me feel like I was part of a real class and not just at a computer miles away from the campus. The interactive activities were fun and educational. There was so much more to the course than just reading and spitting back information. We had to apply what we learned and that made it easier to retain. I greatly enjoyed any activity dealing with Hazard City, except for the Volcanic assesment. It was rather challenging. I like the quizes of this courses because it gives you the marks right away and you can figure out your approximate grade in that specific lesson after finishing the quiz. The communication among students-definately the discussion board. Overall the course is excellent. The reading assignments are appropriate. The quizzes are challenging. Instructor is quick in responding to questions and gives a lot of opportunity to converse with classmates (conference boards). The aspect of this course that I think was done well was the communication between Dr. King and the students and the students with the students. I think this is an important point to bring up. Most classes on campus you come in, sit down, class procedes, and you leave. Unless you are a very outgoing person the communication loop isn't there to include everyone in the class. I believe that the expectations were well spelled out, and that the instructor's prompt response to questions and problems was extrememly helpful. I also think that the activity assignments are great for assisting in comprehension of the topics. Overall, compared to my other online course, this one is exceptionally more organized and easier to use. I have enjoyed taking the class. I think this course was great. I got a lot more than I expected. I can't think of any specific examples. I feel that the course was set up very good. There were many places that the students to go if they were struggling like a tutor, or the discussion board. I also feel that Dr. King really worked hard because he got back toy uo on a daily basis. I liked the way that the professor kept in close touch with all of his students and provided us with tools to help each other. I think this course was a incredible breakthrough and all aspects of the course should be kept. Ground Water The web sites were very informative and fun to read. The communication between students promeoted problem solving as well as assistance. I think that part should stay. P.S. Love the practical problems. the activities on landslide assessment. The activites sections should be kept for future semesters. This is the first online course that I have taken so I do not have much to compare with. I was impressed from the first day I loged on. I would like to take another course like this. The discussion board, the web pages, drop box, practice questions and the good communication you had with us. There were times I would stop in and say to myself... dang he must live in front of the computer because you had replied to everyone's message. The format of the course, such as having us do real life assignments and showing us what they use this information for is a real plus and should be kept this way/ Course was clearly outlined. I appreciated that you used the same format for each chapter. I enjoyed how Dr. King promptly responded to questions and comments. This aspect made me feel a connection with someone I never met before. I found all activities interesting. I did find that some people used the conference for a forum to complain. I thought that the test questions could have been related more closely to the review. Tests contained alot of map and graph evaluation and there were none of these in review for practice. Instead of using questions from book, have Dr. King put up some samples of test question format and have us evaluate graphs, therefore we would be more prepared for the tests. The assignments were easy to follow and engaging. I would only change the snowpack monitoring assignment--that was confusing for me. I like the instant gratification of the course. You really do know just how you are doing in the calss as you are going along in the course. I like the way I can access the assignments. I also like the way we have almost immediate access to our grades (quizzes.) I lkie the differnt sections that we covered. I would definetly keep earthquakes, landslides and volcanoes, I really enjoyed them. I think the communication with other studens was helpful. the reading links Overall, I enjoyed the entire course. Alot of the activities were interestering and fun. Also, it was very easy to communicate with other students and the prof. Everything was really laid out nicely. I knew exactly what I was supposed to be doing and when it was do. Very well organized. The activities realy help you learn the information. Study Question Conference was very beneficial The activities I think that all the lessons where interesting but some activities should be removed.
